the d44 plan
ok so i got a tj and i'm going to put an xj's d44 back there. already got the old perches cut off. now for the new perches... the plan is to point the pinion straight at the tcase and then tack the new perches on. is this a sound plan? or should i use the same pinion angle my d35 is at right now?

are you, or are you planning on running a CV style rear driveshaft? If Yes, that's fine.
if no, then you should match up angles on the t-case output and yoke.

Dana 44 plan
I just did the same thing on my 88 YJ. It has a 2.5" suspension lift and 1.5" shackle lift. I've also installed a SYE and CV driveshaft. Since I was installing new spring pads and aiming the pinion at the transfer case why not get rid of the t-case spacers. It worked great. No vibrations.
