Dana 30 upgrades

I have been having trouble with broken axle shafts in my Dana 30. Ideally I'd like to replace it with a Dana 44 but I have to chack all my options price wise. Where can I get the best price on Warn axle parts to upgrade the D30? Specifically I'd like to price out Warn parts 38007, 38821 and 38875.
What do people thing of the Warn hub conversion vs. Milemarker?
What other sources should I be looking at?
Yukon or Superior shafts with the Warn or Milemarker conversion?
Please let me know where the best advise, and prices can be found.

man i went through this same dilemma awhile back. i can promise you if you plan on going larger than 33" tires then you had better scrap the 30 and go with a 60 a 10 bolt or a 44. i found a 44 and it's held up to the 38.5" tsl's for now anyway. it's a good waste of money to go with the upgrades for the 30. just my experience and opinion

Dana 30 upgrades

I have a 1988 YJ. I've swapped in the 4.0L, auto tranny and NP231 from a 1998 XJ. I have a Dana 44 from an 87 Cherokee in the rear with 4:10 and a locker. The front is still the stock D30 with 4:10, a locker and a manual disconnect. I am riding on 35" MTs.
The last carnage was an exploded driver side, inner shaft yolk. Prioir to that it was the driveside u-joint that exploded and took out the inner and outer shaft yolks. Its gettting harder to find D30 shafts in alot of junk yards and I'm tired of running trails in 3 wheel drive.
I talked to a few guys at the dakota Challenge this year in Rapid City, SD and they were still running their D30s with 35" tires but had upgraded to chromoly shafts. That's why I pricing out this option.
All opinions are appreciated as I have mixed feelings on this.

You are going to need some of this.

FWIW, I have been running 35's on a 30 for 4 years, medium to hard trails, and have only broken one shaft. I am light on the loud pedal though.

IIt will hold up to 38's..... It's all in how you drive.....

but the only upgrade you should do to it is the TJ shafts with the spicer 760 u-joint's (It's the same u-joint as the D44)..... and a locker...

If you want any more than that.. Buy A D44......

You should always carry spare's even if it's a D60 up front....
