1" motor mount lift (MML)

Why do people use these when they do a 1" body lift on a TJ?

They do it so they don't have to mess with adjusting their fan shroud and also if you do a motor mount lift it improves your drive shaft angles. The body lift only lifts the body off the frame so when you lift the motor it has the same effect as a 1 inch transfercase drop.

you also get your engine out of the rocks a little more and if that person is going to do a flat skid later you need the motor mount lift. it does help driveline angles as stated before.

Yes most likely if you have no vibes with you 1" TC drop you could add a MML and take out your TC drop.

00 pumpkin-
What brand of MML do you have? The only good one I found is a 1" MORE #JM600L. I have a 2" body lft so I was looking for a 1.5 or 2" MML.
I have a 2003 TJ, 4.0L with a 5.5" sus. lift.
Please fill me in on what you have and how its working.
Thanks for the help!

Right?

MML are pretty easy to make. using 1"x2" solid stock or square tubing! and soem longer bolts, plus a little tack weld to hold one of the bolts in.

00pumpkin how did youmake you Tranny mount on your Belly up?, I'll be doing this this spring I was goint to use the polymount I have but it's pretty thick.

As far as the custom tranny mount, I have an NV4500 with a tera flex belly up kit. But before the NV4500 I just used an aftermarket poly mount, but the teraflex kit is not totally flat so it worked fine. Depending on if you have a body lift or not, even making a plate flush with the bottom of the frame is doable using a stock style mount along with a MML and some tub trimming....
