After Market Coolant tank
After market Coolant bottles
My son has blown 3 chinese coolant bottles in 2 days. Shouldn't the pressure blow by the tank cap first ? This is a 1990 closed sytem XJ. The temperature is running right at operating temp when it happens. It also builds more pressure after shutting it down and it quits circulating. My thought is if it was a system problem it would be running hot and blowing by the cap first wouldn't it ? Is there anything I should check before investing in another Tank(Stealership tank). The coolant is not foamy or anything either, nor does it smell like exhaust. Thank you

You can replace those pressure tanks all you want, but it doesn't solve the problem. The design is crap from the get go.
I converted my system to the open style like so: Get an inline filler neck & radiator cap, some hose clamps, and standard overflow bottle from the LPS. Last edited by Kilby; 10-20-2005 at 07:30 AM. |

Crap
Ive had my XJ for 10 years with no problem. They work fine of everything is working. I'm thinking the after market tanks stink. Thanks for the input though.
