LEO's and fenders
How do the LEO's react to cut fendered jeeps in the sacramento area? Any experiences? Ive got out of a couple tickets just by driving a jeep and beeing white. And is a jeep required to run mud flaps becauses its considered an "SUV"?

just run some big mudflaps and you'll be fine
look up CVC 27600, it basically just says that you have to have something blocking rearward spray, and that something must be the full width of the tire.

i think the SUV requirement depends on the model. I dont think wranglers are SUV's, i believe they classify them as light trucks?
i could be wrong though.

I looked at the vehicle code and it said like your have to have something to atiquitly(sp) limit rearword spray. But if its in the front then that would be not an issue then right? Cause i havent run mudflaps since they got ripped off and i dont thiink they look good on jeeps.
My insurance classifies my Jeep as an SUV, and so did smog. What would the penalty for getting pulled over for no fender flares, or whatever? would it be a fix-it ticket or fine?

It is up to the individual LEO. Some will be gracious and give you a fix-it ticket, others (like my last) will cite you for not flaps AND wheels not covered completely. Cali is very tough about this. The ticket is $249 plus fees.
Mine ended up being $327 when all was told. If I were you and driving the heep regularly (ala DD), I would get extended flares and these: TrailFlaps |

I not concerned about my rear its my front fenders that need to be cut. I havent run flaps for ever, I dont think SUV's need flaps.

I dont think there are any more fix it tickets in california. I think they are all fines now, I dont know if its legal or not, but Ive been running 35's With no flares front and rear for a year now with no problems.
