Grand Cherokee convert to part-time 4WD

Let me start by saying that I'm usually on the toyota side, but since I 'wheel a friend has asked me to help him convert his 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee from the quadra-trac full time 4WD to the selec-trac part time 4WD... Now only knowing very little about the differences I thought I'd ask here: The Jeep is a '98, 4.0L I-6, Automatic trans.

1) Is there a write up on the web somewhere on doing this?
2) does the transfer case bolt right up and the transfer case linkage hook right up?
3) Assuming the transfer case bolts up, there must be something on the diff to disconnect the axle or hubs on the part time - Can we just swap to manual hubs?

Any other help/hints would be appreciated.

Search,

This topic has beem covered all over the place.

For starters look for a Np 231 or 242 transfer case. Linkage from a grand cherokee with select trac or the 231. Everything bolts right up.

I did several searches on the names Select-trac and quadra-trac with and without the hyphens - didn't know the model numbers to search on. I'll let you know if I have any luck with the searches..
