TJ pitman arm problem
Since I threw the 60-9 under the front of my 03' TJ Rubicon I have lost turning radius. My steering stops do not touch now. It is setup with a high steer and stock pitman arm. I think the lost is due to the lenght of the stock pitman arm. What options do I have with pitman arms that are longer to regain my radius, if not increase it. Stops touch when drag link is disco'd from arm. TIA.

From looking at your setup you will lose steering only because your axle is wider.
![]() ![]() A Longer pitman arm should serve your turning radius back to where it was. Find a ford pitman arm out of the junkyard like I did or get one made from JB's 4x4 to fit your heim and exact lenght you need. I believe a stock pitman arm on a TJ is 5.5. I would suggest a length of 6.5. The one pictured is at 7 and is also perfect but the way I have the draglink and tierod setup the acutally cross eachother which is fine. Nice jeep by the way. I snagged a picture of it when you were in Sommerset,MD sitting on the side of the road. Spencer |
