tranny question
I am wanting to put an automatic 6cyl tranny in my 99 TJ, but every salvage yard I talk to tells me that I can ONLY use one out of a 98-99 Wrangler not anything else...does anyone know why this is so? Shouldnt I be able to use any tranny as long as it is electronic and has the CPS in it?

Theyre not takeing into consideration the fabrication it would take for anything other then a TJ tranny.
There are adapters available for a wide range of trannies....but not all of them. Im more familiar with manual tranny swaps, which usually just involve adapting the bell, input shaft, and clutch components....so you may be more limited with what auto you can go with.
