Clutch Linkage Help
I can only recall ONE freaking spring on the whole clutch linkage. That spring I'm talking about connects to the fork that holds the trowout bearing and then to a hole in the bell housing.
We however where told by a shop that there was another, a very very stiff spring, and I purchased it. I looked in the repair manual and there is no spring. But I'm told without it I'll screw something up. What is it??? Any help?

I assume this is for the CJ7 in your signature.
There is another spring (an over-center spring) located under the dash that attaches to your pedal support and clutch pedal.

Whoever told you that you would "screw something up" is full of chit. The only purpose of those two springs is #1 to pull hte fork off the throwout bearing preventing premature wear and #2 to pull the clutch pedal back up to "normal" position. Bascially they are to prevent undue wear on the parts.
And yes, the other spring goes from the top of your pedal to the bracket under the dash. You could drive without that one, if you wanted to. Your pedal might be a bit "lazy" though. LOL |

It just has some play in it. Really, there are NO holes or lips to mount the spring on anyhwere under the dash. If anyone has a picture it would help. Or a better drawing then those in the manuals.
