4x4 not working

Hey all hope I can get this figured out.
Just put a new body on my 92 YJ 4.0 every thing works but the4x4.
1 thing on the gear shifter is all the way up ( suppose to be in 2wd) the 4x4 light on the dash comes on .

2 the 4x4 is not working I have all the vac lines hooked up. But there is one line that goes in through the fire wall. On all the vac diagrams i have seen it show this line going to some kind of switch. But I can not find were it goes.. So right now i have it pluged. All the other lines are hooked up on the transfer case and the front axle..

O and when I shift it from 2w to 4wheel u can hear a clunking noise
any help would be great
thanks jay

I'm guessing you have a dana 30 upfront. if you do and its vaccuum operated you would have a shifter fork that might not be on the coupler that locks the 2 axles together. I had the same problem and that was what fixed it

good luck !!!!1
