Bought a 01 WJ with the case stick reading 2WD

*Does that work like the old wagons with Quadratrack?
And what case is it?

i think its a NP242... but id just check the tag on the T-case. round red and silver tag, just to the left of the rear driveshaft on the back side of the T-case. then you'll know for sure what it is. others might want to add more comments but i think this T-case has a differential in it to let it slip when its shifted into part-time4hi.
