TJ headlight recommendations
I know, there isn't much more mundane a part on your Jeep, but I'll ask anyway. . .anyone have any headlight bulbs or systems that you've used on your TJ that you'd recommend? Mechanically the jeep's where I want it (for now) so I'm moving onto the fluffy stuff like lighting. All the catalogs have ten thousand options and I don't know if I have it in me to become a frickin' lighting expert. Would like to narrow the field down to a handful of options and decide from there. High end lights that are worth it? Middle of the road lights that are a good value? or just go to Autozone and get replacement bulbs? 2000 Jeep is not a daily driver, but not a trailer queen either. Right now, I might as well hold my Zippo out the window to illuminate the road.

Without dropping some serious coin on HIDs I chose IPF E code housings. I have the magic bulbs in my junk.
![]() they do some funky color stuff at night. ![]() I put the IPF E code housings in my wifes jeep with the IPF fat boy bulbs. The low beam output is simply amazing and better than the magic bulbs in my jeep. ![]() I will swap out for the fat boys in my jeep since I run IPF 968s with the bright switch.

delta H4 conversions, only 55 bucks and they nice and bright. Plus they are not sealed beams so you can replace just the bulbs

I run the Sylvania Silverstars in mine. Nice bright white light, and a direct replacement for the factory Wagners. I think they were $35 for both lights, shipped from Sylvania.

I tried Silverstars and found that with the low beam properly adjusted, the high beams were useless. I didn’t like the focal plane either. I took them back…IMO

alright, went with the IPF H4 lenses with the green ring IPF bulbs to pimp my ride. maybe get the H4 fat boy bulb someday, but for now the green rings will add a form over function bling to the jeep

I have some old hella replacement housings (Don't think thay are available anymore, been through a couple vehicles, but somebody must make good replacement units) and piaa extreme white h4 halogen bulbs. They work pretty good (supplemented with some hella fogs and cheap ebay halogen long range lights off road) for the price.
