why would you wanna do that?
double check the years of the XJs, I think you are looking for a Hig pinion dana 30? I was lookin ginto the same thing but just couldnt find a cheap axle in time for the re-gear. the newer XJs have the same dana 30 and TJs do and the older ones are high pinion and the older, older ones havea vacume disconnect, which is not so great. good luck

Because the HPd30 is stronger than the LPd30 and you get more driveshaft clearance.
I got my HPd30, non-disconnect out of a 94...

2000 and 2001 XJ's have the low pinion 30.
1984-1990 have the disconnect HP30, unless they had a 242 transfercase, in which case they have the non disco hp30 with 5x260 joints in the front shafts. 91-96 have a non disco HP 30. ABS jeeps have 5x297 shafts, non abs have 5x260 shafts. 97-99 all have non disco HP 30 with 5x297 shafts. 2000/2001 have a low pinion 30 with 5x297 shafts. |
