high idle
Jeep=87 2.5l 4cyl, ax5, np207, 30/35. all stock.
problem. after changing the internal slave and clutch mc, I let the jeep sit for about 3 weeks, when I turned it on after that time the idle was wicked high (2000 rpm) and stay there. I ran through a couple of tanks of gas with stabilizer thinking it might be old gas. but now it starts up and stabilizes at about 1500 and goes to 2k after you drive any distance. new plugs, wires, dist cap, the header/exhaust junction has a small leak because one of the hangars is broke and it shifts, so I'm thinking the o2 sensor is getting an accurate reading. any thoughts |

Check vacume system, make sure all the lines are still conected, use starting fluid to spray around lines, see if there are any leaks. Other than that get out the timeing light and start confirming your base line paremeters of the engine, choke working properly ext.
