Stock wheelbase TJ 36" Iroks - Pirate4x4.Com : 4x4 and Off-Road Forum

Anyone running 36" Iroks or 37" tires on stock wheelbase ? Currently on 35" tires , measure alittle more than 33". I have been told that the 36" bias Iroks run about 36" . That would put me 3" taller.

Wondering how stable in the rocks , climbing and off camber.

Really dont want to stretch wheelbase t0 100"

Any input would be appreciated

got one with a 3" black dimond, belly up, rubicon axles and 17x9.25 3.75 BS trail readys and 37x12.5R15 krawlers.

it is low and has gread ground clearance. plus it absoluly will not turn over. I drove it on the side wall (as in the hole side of the tire, face down) and the jeep would not roll. and it was on flat ground. but not a single bit of the jeep ever touched.

the only way I think it would roll is to go over backwards.

Action Fab. Assuming you have Dana 44's Fand R. you running a locker up front ?

Glad to hear with a low stance you can run 37's on a 94.5" WB

I had 35s on my sami with 81" wb, then 87" wb. How can 37s on 94" possibly be bad?

36 bias Iroks run closer to 37" http://www.intercotire.com/site25.php
I,m running 37MTR's(35.5") on a 4in lift,1"BL on stock wheelbase.I have 20" clearance at the skid.COG isn't bad and has been pretty stable on the rocks but I think the D60's weight helps out too.This is the upper limit for a stock wheelbase IMO.I plan to stretch and do LA's when larger tires go on.

Couple of thoughts for you to consider:

1.) 36's on a stock wheelbase jeep works pretty well.

2.) If you are running a 4+" lift on short arms, then you no longer have a stock wheelbase rig, you have a shortened wheelbase rig.

3.) Any additional wheelbase you can get is better than the stock 94"

My wifes junk runs short arms with around a 4" lift and hers sits at the stock wheelbase.

Mine too-adjustable Currie arms with modification.

Alright, I lied. She is .25" over stock.

I can go out farther with all 8 adjustable JKS control arms.

Not a problem, I run 36x13.50 Irocks on a YJ.(same wheel base as a TJ).

there is a guy in our club runnin the 36 iroks wit the stock wheel base and it works great.

and if your goin from a tire measuring 33" to a tire measuring 36" youll only get 1.5" more lift

I ran 36 Iroks on a Clayton LA'd TJ. It was fun until I started paying for all the broken parts. The TJ was plenty stable and climbed very well, but broken parts ruin a weekend.

I have been out of touch with the short arm lift kits for many years... I guess they've finally learned that adjustments to links need to be made.
