I know about the warn kit but I want an economical swap option. What can I get the outer assemblies off of that will bolt up so I can have Warn Premium lockouts and 5 on 5.5 bolt patterns?

Basically the small bolt pattern hub is a ranger set-up and the larger a CJ. The biggest hurdle you will have to over come is the spindle that bolts up to the late model jeep knuckle. You maybe able to mod a CJ or ranger spindle to bolt-up, never really looked into it as I have the Milemarker set-up, which is the cheaper option, if you search around you can pick it up for $600.

I think your only option would be to swap "C"s from an early 30 so you can use dana 44 outers. There is a write-up in the tech archives about a hybrid 30 axle. It shows how to do it.

Yep, if you want to go that route, just do a search for Dana 30/44 hybrid, been done by a few and I believe Billavista has written an article about it.

Just trying to kill multiple birds with one stone.

1. lockout hubs
2. real bearings
3. 5 x 5.5 spacing so I can use my Champion beadlocks off my CJ

I looked at the conversion and would rather not have to hack off the C's. Any other options?

I thought you can mate the knuckles from any d44 to the inner C's of a d30? take some measurments and just see. This I believe is true. The measurements are the same I believe. Just unbolt the knuckles from the inner C and put in knuckles from a d44. I could be wrong

That only applies to the CJ D30 axle, YJ,TJ,XJ,ZJ, etc all use a different axle and knuckle style then the CJ D30.
