Bilstein 5100 shock length
I currently have a 2003 Rubicon with a 3.5"superflex lift and a 1.25" JKS Body lift. I have recently installed a Jeep Medic Transfer case skid, adjustable upper control arms and adjusted the pinion angle. I have figured out what I should have already known - I need to relocate my rear spring brackets. I have cut the stock ones off and will be getting a set of replacements from RE. I am considering running a Bilstein 5100 shock. I see that they have one designed for a 3" and a 4" lift. Does anyone know the compressed and extended length of these two shocks (front and rear). I know that the RE springs tend to ride a little high, so I was considering the 4" Bisltein but would like to know if I will have any problems with the shock bottoming out before I hit bumpstop. I have looked all over the internet and can not find these lengths.
Thank you |

You will have to call a dealer for Bilstein, they will have all the info you need.

Measure what you need, allow a little to prevent bottoming the shock at full flex(I highly recommend removing your current shocks and flexing it fully to measure as your shocks compress and extend a bit more at flex than just on the bumpstops) BTW,I'm only running 5100s on the front and I can tell a tremendous difference in ride quality over the pro-comps on the rear) It's common courtesy to buy from Quadratec if you use their website to get the part number you need, just like if you call a Bilstien dealer, then buy from who takes the time to look up the lengths for you.
