T150 pops out of gear?

My T150 pops out of 1st gear when I start to take off would this be syncronizer or maybe a bent shift fork? How would I be able to tell with out pulling the top off?

Most likely syncros. It's very commpn with the T150. Have you ever had the cover off? If not, then I would vote syncros. A bent shift fork is possible, if the tranny was beat on.

Id bet syncro's personally but if it was beat on it could be worse. Sadly either way the problem is inside the tranny. Id throw that piece of shit away and maybe look for a T-176 or a T-18. The T-18 being what i use. Throwing money at a T-150 is a waste more or less. Your stock bellhousing should work with the T-176 i believe, possible the T-18 as well.

With 38's id run nothing less then the T-18. Its hard to tell if your driveshafts would work. Most of the "T" series trannies that came in jeeps were similar length. I would probably say plan on a driveshaft change and hope for the best if u did it.
