Question Spedometer calibration

I know I am putting the cart before the horse, but when I put 35" tires on my YJ, I know that I am going to need to adjust the spedometer. Is this difficult, and how does one go about it on a '94 YJ?

I am assuming you are running the stock transfer case... 4WD Hardware sells the new speedometer gear and has a a chart to tell you which one you need. They only cost like $25 plus shipping, and like $3 for the o-ring. Very easy to do. All you have to do is remove the speedometer gear on the rear output of the transfer case and swap in the new gear. I think this can even be done with just one wrench. Check out one of there catalogs or search there website. 4wd.com

Before you order that new gear, get a price from your local dealer..... I know, strange that they would be cheaper than after market but mine was. Not only cheaper, I didn't have to pay shipping charges and I had it the next day.

Thats true you could probably find it a little cheaper. Just figured I would post the one I knew off the top if my head. I think i have actually seen them as low as $15 or so. Check around and good luck.
