upgrade questions
i got an 85 cj7, my goal in the rig woulg be mild wheelin( mud, sand, gradual hill climbs, not to much rocks, nothing to intense)just a more reliable drivetrian. dont need a whole lot of flex i wanna stay with leafs and an anti wrap kind of setup. i dont wanna go full width or stretch. what axles are gonig to be more closer in length wise to the cj7 set up so that theres no out boarding.

I run an '85 CJ-7 myself...
If You have the more Common set-up 4.2l/T-4/D300 drivetrain and don't get too happy with the stupid pedal, than upgraded axle shafts are all you should ever need in your stock axles with 35" tires. If you stay with 33" or less than I wouldn't do shit to your axles untill they actually broke (probably won't). I run bone stock axles in my CJ-7 right now with factory 3.31 gears in them behind a 360/tf727/D300 set-up. Last summer (running 33x12.50R15) I accidently hit the shifter (don't ask) into reverse at 55mph and didn't break a damn thing, and i still run two-piece shafts with 179,000 miles on the odometer. If that doesn't put your mind at ease about the strength of these axles what will. Don't go doing the Dana 60 thing just cause everyone else tells you that you have to. If you have the money go for it and never worry about you're axles again, but if you're like the rest of us wheel what you've got. if you stay below 33" tires I wouldn't even switch over to the one-piece shafts untell they break.
