I swapped a d44 front from a 75 Waggy into my cj7. The draglink on the Waggy axle is 2" to long to match up with my pitman arm. I know that this is a fairly common swap, so can someone help me out with how to proceed from here? If it makes any difference I have a 4.5" lift with a drop pitman. Thanks
You can either cut 1" off each end of the D/L or cut 1" off each D/L end. A minimum of 1.5" of thread engagement is needed on each side. Take a look at your current D/L ends and see if you have an inch on both sides to spare.
I would cut 2 inches out of the middle and sleeve it with some dom.
weld the ends in like weld bungs.
