I'm thinking of stretching my tj to a unlimited. By leaving the wheel base stock and stretching the rear like the scramblers. What is the difference in the body tubs? Has anyone seen something like this? I want something different or is it just gay. I always go wheeling with two kids and a wife, the extra room would be nice.
sounds like a unique idea. here is my idea: get in touch with gen right and order a set of blank full tub corners for an unlimited. blank meaning you would need to cut the wheel openings, gas hole, tailgate latches etc. this would give you the right dimensions for your stretch plus this way you could run a CJ tailgate. the people at gen right are really nice and easy to work with. http://www.genright.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=CNR8000
Why, why, why go through all that trouble to stretch the body? When you could just stretch the wheel base and have a better departure like angle. What are your plans with the jeep? If you’re going to wheel it I don’t see the point. If you want more storage room build racks. For a mall crawler it might be useful.:flipoff2:

How much longer are the unlimited tubs over the tjs. I like the looks of the scrambler. As far as the hangover you can wheel a schoolbus if you try hard enough.
I've wheeled with a hangover many times...just never in a schoolbus.
