Ok this should be a simple answer but i know very little about steering. I got the parts mike dana 60 high steer arms, which are springless. It has 4 bolts to connect the arm to the knuckle and one more in the center which i guess is to load the spring. My question is how do i know how much to tighten down the center bolt? Also i do that first before i tighten any of the other bolts correct?
Tighten down the four bolts that secures the arm to the knuckle. Then tighten down the set screw. I've heard around 30 ft. lbs. but I called Mike and he related to tighten it down until you cannot turn the rotor/hub by hand, then back off just until you can rotate the hub by hand. Then tighten the lock nut. If you don't tighten the set screw tight enough, you'l get some mean death wobble. Don't ask me how I know!
