not much of an XJ guy, but my good friend wants to get some 31 under his jeep with a decent suspension. Want to try to avoid sye/cv. Just want some guidance.
Heard of some people using ZJ coils for a little lift, dont know if it would be enough. Does he want to wheel it or street it? If its for the street with little to no wheeling I would run Spacers in the front and either blocks or an AAL in the rear(this is also the cheapo way). If he plans on wheeling it get a nice 3.5" RE kit full coils and leaf pack and be good to go. Should come with a Tcase drop and will not need a SYE. This will cost more but is the best option, it will come with the correct shocks as well.
This post doesn't belong in the Cherokee section, it belongs in the Newbie GD or Jeep non-hardcore.
That said, any of the above ways should clear 31's. As for needing an SYE with a 3 inch lift, may or may not be necessary, depends on the year and the particular vehicle.
