Update: I have been working on the floorboards trying to get them welded in . They are not pretty welds but they are strong. I still have to build my tranny tunnel. I also started on my rocker guards. I got some 4x6 by 3/16th inch square tubing and started cutting. They turned out pretty good I still want to at some tubing to it. I still have to trim them at the rear to match the curve of the fenderwell They are pretty strong and help with supporting the floorboards underneath. I then put the front fender on on just to get some ideas and think I'm still going to tubefender the front. I still have to stretch the rear about 8 to 10 inches. I also poicked up some spring perches from bluetorch so I can put the rear disc dana 44 in. Here are some pics.

I like the sliders. What thickness metal did you use for the floors?

Update: Well there is not much of an update besides I got my shifter for fathers day. It is a B&M sport shifter. I have been out of commission as far as working on the Jeep. I broke my ankle at work playing B-Ball. It has sucked just sitting on the couch when i could have been working on the Jeep but oh well. Only 2 more weeks till i'm better and then its going to be full force on the Jeep.

Update: Well I have been collecting parts and doing some welding on the floorboards. I got a new brake distribution/proportioning block, lokar kickdown cable and b&m trans cooler. I also got a tach , voltmeter, watertemp, and oil pressure guages. These are all from equus and look nice at fraction of the price of autometer. Hope they work well. I have also decided on paint for sure . It is going to be Rustoleum Hammered Gray. I sanded and painted the firewall and it looks good (I Think). The floorboards are about done and will take body off and weld in supports underneath. I have also started on my front bumper its made out 2x4 3/16 square tubing. After much thought decided the frame was just to long so I have decided to cut the rear frame and use different springs in the back. Wheelbase will still be around 105" -107".I will post pics soon.

Well here are some pics. Some are the front bumper and fire wall color. Some are of the rear frame . Some of the floor boards and the trans cooler guages, brake block and kickdown cable. Any ideas appreciated on how to mount the new springs in the back. The current springs are 57 inches and the new springs are going to be 47 inches. It will be inch and a half shorter to center of axle. I 'm thinking of incorporated rear bumper mounting system together. I also just my 4.27 gears for front I found them on craigs list for 10 bucks. In good shape.

Update: Well my wife and found out that kid 2 on its way due March 4th. I'm very happy. The Jeep should be big enough for the whole fam and gear. I finished making some new channels for underneath the floorboards and welded them in. Taking the body off by yourself is not fun ,but neither is putting it back on. (Good thing there is a kid on the way. haha) thank goodness for engine hoist. i hope to have ordered my new master cylinder and lines soon. I will also be welding my new body mounts on the frame. Really go to get this thing done now.

The wheels are 15 x 8 Procomp series 97. As far as the axle bolt pattern they are the same. They are both 6 x 5.5 . The only difference I have with mine is that the front waggie axle is a little wider. I will add spacers to the rear to correct this problem.

Update: I got all body mounts welded on ( welds are not the best but they are strong) and all other stock mounts and other tabs I didn't need cut off. I also installed the Warn hubs and got the motor painted. I got some pics of the body mounts, hubs , new floor supports , painted motor and new Herculiner I picked up for 49.00 bucks! I'm going to pressure wash frame and repaint. I will then drop in motor, transmission and transfer case. It is all starting to come together. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Oh yeah I also have got to put in the new rearend also. I have still got to get wheel spacers and electric taurus fan.

Are you still going to cut the back part of the frame off? Make sure you don't get that bedliner on your hand or anywhere you don't want it, It is really hard to get off. I got some on my hands and did not get it off right then and it just had to wear off, took 2 days. Your body mounts look good. I am in a holding pattern again I can't figure out if my welder is a POS or if I need to get a dedicated outlet for it.

Yeah going to cut the rear frame still. I got to get the springs from Benji. I got the wrong ones when I went over to his house last time. I will be wearing some latex gloves when I put this stuff on. I have heard of people getting this stuff on them and it taking awhile to get off also. Well I hope you can figure out the welding problem.

Update: I got the rear suspension done.I used shorter springs they were about 10 inches shorter. I ended up cutting a good bit off the rear frame. I had to flip the spring hangers and weld them in place. I think it turned out well. The only problem that I have run into was it lifted the rear. My uncle is going to trade me some lifted springs for my stock springs for the front that way it sits even again. I still have to make my rear bumper and i'm going to intergrate and old Rustys engine and oil pan skid ( modified) as a gas tank skid into the rear bumper. I just have to order my fuel cell.I also want to make a spare tire carrier but have not decided on which way I want to go. I had to order some torque converter bolts and they should be in today so I will be putting in motor, transmission and transfer case hopefully this weekend. Here is some pics of the bobbed rear. First pic is the old mounts .Second pic is new mount.
