tcase swap

So my tcase on my 89 XJ, np242, is leaking enough that I'm gonna have to drop it before too much longer. And I got to thinking, if its gotta come down, why not look at an upgrade? I don't really "need" the full time fucntion, so what would be my best bet for an upgrade? I do plan to go bigger in the future with my tires and axles, so might as well weed out any weak links while I'm in there. A little fab work isn't a big deal, so it doesnt have to be bolt up. I've done some searching, and I've seen a zillion different routes people have taken. I see the np231/d300 double is one people have done, but I dont know if I need to do a doubler. Anyone here done a swap to something other than an np231?

i have a buddy who had a rubicon

dyna trac 60's 5.13 spooled the whole 9 yards, and still runs the rubicon 4.1. so eventhough it's chain driven, it's pretty stout.

just an idea

I vote for the 231/300 twin sticked with all the best parts. Its a poormans 4 speed that can still do front digs if wanted. OR, if you got the cash, call up atlas and your done.
