Deaver front coil springs
Who is running deaver's 5.5" coils up front? how do you like them?
I'm putting my XJ together and i think the rusty's 6.5" coils are going to be too tall for my deaver leafs and RE boomerang shackles. So i'll be in the market for some shorter springs, probably in the 5.5" range or a little shorter with a pair of ACOS. I was planning to go RE, but i want some opinions on the deavers. the deavers are about $100 more. There are a few ads in the jeepspeed classifieds from people selling the deavers with "one race" or "super low miles". That concerns me. Their supurb leaf springs make me wonder if the coils are the same quality. what is your experience with them? I want to build the best all around XJ i can. I want to be able to comfortably trail ride, some rock crawling and i want to be able to handle some speed as well. deavers, RE or other? Last edited by 61scout80; 04-09-2009 at 11:43 AM. |

I cannot comment as to the ride of the deaver coils but I do now that a cheaper altnative would be BDS, They ride great/good warrenty, about as close as you can get to a deaver coil with actually buying a deaver i suppose.
Also if you want a cheaper quicker option .. cut a pair of rusty's whatever 6inch coils down that would give you your desired height as well as make for a stiffer coil.
