Lock out hubs

Forgive the stupidity of the post but its been a long time since I was into the whole 4x4 thing I just got my jeep back up and running after 2.5 yeas of sitting.... but need some confirmation

98 TJ with ford D44 front with chevy outers, and lock out hubs original tj transfer case

When my hubs are "free" and I drive down the road in 2wd my driveshaft rotates..... is this normal or is something misassembled? or are they broken... no clicking no noise, everything else good I just thought that when in "free" the wheels were disconnected from everything else pig gears don't rotate, DS doesn't rotate

Little help please
Thanks

how do you know it rotates? see if you can lock it in place with rope or bungee, just to keep it still. there is enough force to make the drive shaft spin when moving, but it should slip/spin when tied up. try that. this is normal.

if it spins when tied up, your Tcase isnt shifting out of 4wd. not normal.

Residual friction will cause this even when everything is disengaged. Perfectly normal.
