Question 4link rear + towing?

im using my 90 4door xj for towing the boat right now but would like to build it up. would doing a 4 link rear ruin my towing ability?

just use some stiff coils and shcoks in the rear, maybe add a sway bar for when you tow.

I don't know what ZJ's are rated to tow but they are 4link rears. You'll just have to pick your spring rates to compromise between loaded/unloaded ride

my DD is 4 linked and (factory) rated at 9100 pounds towing so yes you can make it work. I would do coils and ride rite airbags inside the coils and get the best of both worlds.HTH

You could also do a rear antirock to stablize it.

Send a message via ICQ to johnmcd
4 link should tow quite well, ZJ's, WJ's and JK'sare all linked and tow. If you are building the XJ, just plan the build with that in mind - springrates, sways, hitch mounting.
