YJ trackbars
Is it necessary to have them? I am building YJ with just a mild lift of about 3" and am wondering if you need em. I have taken them off now and sure noticed a huge change in highway driving. Seems like you need to be on the wheel alot.
Also, on the subject of puttin waggy springs for the lift. What do I use out of the pack? Tx in advance for any tips. Am new to offroading. ![]() I do use this for my daily driver at this time so need it road worthy. |

WTF are you talking about; you notice a "change in highway driving."??
Maybe if your bushings are shot, in which case your shit's all retarded because your bushings are shot. ![]() To paraphrase the previous post- If you have leaf springs, and are concerned with trackbar/panhard rod necessity go take a JC beginning auto course, or do some fucking research about suspension. You may not have noticed the supersecretmembersonly search function of this site, but it's at ~12:38. If you still can't find it, go to google. Either way, don't waste our time with your nonsense, Troll. Tits can't even save you. GTFO. As for your BS about waggy springs or whatever the hell you said, I must reiterate- GTFO. No you don't need them. For 8 yrs i did not have them and it was my DD.
As for waggy springs. You want to run the hole waggy front spring pack. Front and rear and it will give you a little wheelbase stretch. Now you better go back to the non hardcore before the wolves get really fired up. |

X2, dump the rear trac bar. I would say also dump the front trac bar, the leaf springs will do a good enough job on keeping the axle centered. Plan to keep the front with sway bar disconnects and you should be good and not notice a huge amount of change. I
f you removed them and you are noticing immediate amount of change on the front, inspect your leaf spring bushings for wear. As far as Waggy springs, I personally would not run them SUA, the packs will not perform as well unless you remove a lot of leafs. If you have them, and if tehy are the 8 leaf pack, you will ned to remove at least three leaves to keep the ride decent, otherwise be ready for a very bumpy ride. Waggies on SOA are a whole other story

I agree, most of the people are web wheelers anyway.
As Jeep recycler I say ditch the rear but keep the front. That's the way I have done the last 9 spring overs and they drive great. My 2 cents

My old jeep was sprung over and I didn't have any track bars on it front or rear and had absolutely no handling abnormalities. That being said it also had a high steer setup on it. Without the front track bar and a normal steering set up you may have issues with bump steer.

Apparently this got moved.....
Short answer no you don't need track bars. Fix your junk correctly and replace any worn out parts if your rig is all over the place. Also, you probably want to check out this website, you will probably find that these guys are more your crowd. www.jeepsunlimited.com Theres nothing but cranky assholes and web wheelers on this site. The guys that really know what they are talking about are over there. |
