4.0 TJ engine mount brackets.

The metal engine brackets that bolt to the motor and then to the rubber mount are the ones I am wondering about. I have a 2000 TJ that I bought in pieces just to have something to play with. I have the mounts from a 93 Grand Cherokee 4.0 and a 99 Cherokee 4.0. They are too short to put in the bolts to the rubber mount. When I set the engine in the mounts were about an inch too short when the engine was centered. What other mounts will interchange in the 4.0 TJ. I am retired and on a tight budget. I know Brown Dog makes them but to get them here is about 400 dollars. I may have to make my own as I have been looking for about 6 months and no luck. I am not positive but I do not think the 2.5 brackets will fit.
Any ideas?

I just installed some Brown Dog mounts on mine. For the 400, will you be getting both parts? Engine and frame mounts? I did just the frame mounts, and they are worth every penny. Is a junkyard an option? Or you could try http://www.daveysjeeps.com/.

The price of brown dog are way too high especially time I pay shipping and custom fees. We have only one wrecking yard close and there are no TJ's either engines. I just thought someone would know if any other model would interchange.

400 bucks for Brown Dog Motor mounts....

Check out M.O.R.E. motor mounts. They were less than half the price of the brown dog and just as beefy.

I was told this is the place for an answer. This is a stock jeep with a 2 inch lift and 32 inch tires. Stock should be fine. Surely there are other model direct mounts that fit. If not thank you.

I paid $70 for my frame mounts. They are $84 from M.O.R.E., unpainted. He has to pay customs and shipping.

I think you would be best off to make/have some made. I don't remember what the passenger side looks like, but the drivers side should be easy.

Thanks for the help. I will make my own when the weather warms up. Too cold to work outside on a slab. It was minus 30C this morning or minus 22F. I am a code welder and nothing can be that hard to build. Browndog and MORE can not have over 25 dollars in their mounts and because of free trade and governments that think they need to screw citizens on duties, we are forced to resort to other measures. They need to fire about 2/3rds of the customs agents and they wont need to collect fees on something that is not even available in their own country. This goes both directions. I have a piece of 3/8 in plate and the only problem I see is setting up the engine height from the frame. We will see just how hard it is and maybe take some pictures.
Thanks
