...Lockers for my Grand
I know this has been beat to death, and I just read threads for about an hour. From what I understand most people say a LSD (detroit) is fine for the rear, but for the front you want selectable. But on other sites and reviews I saw people posting about how they DD their TJ and they have an Aussie front and rear and absolutely love them.
Here is my setup. 1998 Grand Cherokee ZJ 5.2 V8 8" Suspension lift (obviously) 37" MTR's 242 TCase 8.8 Rear End HP30 front end This is my daily driver, and we do get lots of snow and ice up here in Minnesota. I am concerned about loosing control in 4wd, and the strength of these Aussie Lockers for a V8 and 37's. I do take multiple wheeling trips a year with it, trail riding, rock crawling. Next is hopefully MOAB. Its time I get lockers, going to college I am on a low budget. Will I be fine with Aussies front and rear? |

the aussie will hold up to v8 and 37 no problem, In the front, when they lock it will effect steering, so if you aare going down the highway at 60 in 4wd and they lock, its going be fun. But in the woods no problem. I got aussie in front and back of my toyota.

I think I am pretty dead set on an auto locker in the rear and a selectable up front.
My main question now, is will this aussie hold up to a V8 and 37's under abuse?? And what makes the aussie better than the lock rite? |

Will it hold up? Depends on what your doing, driving around, blowing donuts, etc, it'll be fine, but hardcore stuff, no probably not. Nothing in particular makes the Aussie better, they are the same design. If you want reall beef, go with a Ford 8.8 and a real, full, Detroit locker. |
