"Mild" 74 CJ5 Updates
Long story short I took a job in Bush Alaska last fall and bought this '74 CJ5 off a buddy after I moved up here, I haven't even driven it yet but plan on wheeling it memorial day back in Michigan. He calls it a "restomod" and spent a lot of time and $$ on it doing things the right way. The "goodies" include a glass tub, 304/t15/d20, 30/44 with 4.56's and detroits, all new brake parts/ wheel bearings/ seals, 4" bds yj springs, new steering parts, almost new 35" muds on aluminum wheels, full cage and corbeaus/ harnesses, 8k warn, newer full bestop and bikini top, a bunch of extras and goodies.
![]() ![]() The goal is to build the jeep into an all around jeep that can run the rubicon and other "moderate trails" and drive 5 hours home. I've taken a job working in Central Nevada so I will be close to a bunch of trails and have thousands of miles of 2 tracks to explore close by.
