4.7l/5.2 swap

Aloha all, newbie to the forum here. I'm sure this question has been asked, but forgive me i couldn't find anything. I have a99 wj and need a motor, I have been looking for a 4.7 from a jeep but can't find one to save my life here in hawaii, and with shipping its rediculous. I can wait and save some money first, but I have a friend who has a 98 wj 5.2 motor, ecu etc. and I wondering, would that suffice? Could i do the swap? the tranny is the 44re i'm told in the 98 but mine (99) is the 45RFE or 545RFE. WIll this be relatively simple? I don't wanna have to convert anything. Or should i just keep looking for the 4.7? Thanks guys...

From the little hawaiian girl who loves her jeep...

In short....no

It wouldn't be an easy swap at all for a novice, plus if you have emissions to deal with in your area it would fail.
