Jeep YJ 4BT
Alright so I already know im a n00b
and have been lurking the forums for a while now. I have had my jeep for about 4 years now and the build has been going pretty slow. I am only 18 and dont really have alot of the fabrication know how or skill that alot of members here do but I am trying to learn. Here is a link to a build thread I have over at jeepforum.I am looking for ideas to go along with the 4BT that I just bought before I get it put it, yes a shop is doing most of the work but I am hoping to learn through the process. I really like this jeep that I found here on pirate. I dont want to appear to be copying his rig however I have had an image of where I want to take it for a while now, that being said how would I go about doing the hood stack and still be able to open/close my hood? I have searched far and wide and have only found that one thread. |

hmmm yep.....
For teh hood stack, may be worth giving him a holler. You can simply make a stack that is removeable from the hood level up, basically close the hood, insert stack, pretty similar to some rat rods, or other rigs with hood scoops, etc. Another option is to make the hodo fully removeable and have hood pins. I personally think you will hate life having a smoke stack on the front of you hood, but to each its own

This thread should have been posted yesterday.
Move the thread to newbie and smoke stacks (especially ones in the hood) bring the ghey.

Well the only question you have so far is about the hood stack. Short pipe off the turbo that is a very loose fit into a large stack mounted to the hood is how many are done so the hood can still be opened like a stock hood.
But the stack fabrication is nothing that should hold you up from completing the engine swap. What else do you want to know? If you are going to drive this on the street then forget the hood stack, it won't be legal.
