XJ Driveshaft questions
Im real new to the Jeep world, my girlfriend owns a 98 XJ and her front driveshaft ujoints blew out and mangled the shaft all up.
The tcase is a 231J, what model front shafts/ujoints will be compatible with it? Its an auto tranny, not sure which one. The XJ is all stock. Looking at them on ebay, some people have shafts that they say will work on any xj or zj, from a pretty wide range of years, while others are selling reman. ones in specific 2 year compatibility increments. Thanks |

i was under the impression that the xj and zj shafts are a different length but identical beyond that. id pull one from a junkyard, probably the cheapest route. craigslist, or maybe take it to a driveshaft shop and see if they can repair it.

Most of the xj's are the same except the 2doors just pull one from the junkyard. Also if you plan on lifting it I would get a front driveline due to the fact that it has the double cardan joint!
