Front axle interchange question
Will the Dana 30 front from a XJ bolt in to a ZJ? Need to know for my brother, he grenaded the axle in his ZJ and I have an XJ front laying around, not sure if it will work though.

XJ Dana 30's are High Pinion. I believe that ZJ Dana 30's are low pinion.
I transplanted the HP Dana 30 into my TJ earlier this year with no major issues. I can't see this being anything other than good for your brother unless perhaps he is running a stock ZJ. The lower control arm brackets on the HP 30 will not have the elongated holed to adjust the axle alignment. I tore one off after the swap while wheeling Blanca Peak trail here in Colorado, and replaced them with the adjustable brackets from Blue Torch Fab. |
