how can you tell the different between vacuum disconnect waggy 44 and one that does not have that? i got the axle for nothing and was wondering if it was a good one. it driver's drop.

From what I recall, the pumpkin had some extra casting and a fitting or two added to it as I recall. If you look at the pumpkin, it is different than other 44's.

What year was it out of? Only the early 80's had them, and even then, not all of them.

The vac disconnect D44 has a big 'ol vaccum canister mounted on the center section near the diff cover. It's painfully obvious that it's different.

I think the diff cover has some junk on it too, or is at least different.

thanks guys. it does not have any of that so it must be a good 44. but waht about goen to a 5/5.5 bolt pattern. can i use ford outters or no ?
