transmission help!!

i have an 88 yj with a stock tranny and transfer case anyone know what i need to do to get a set of axels with 4;10's to work with the tranny or do i have to replace it has 304 gears now

wow...... you can run what ever axles you want any gear ratio you want! or tell me what gears you want and the axles you have and I can get you a fat deal I might even have master installs for them too. then take it to a shop and have them re gear what you have

All you need is 2 axles with 4.10's... Easy way would be bolt in axles, harder way would include a welder.

You do not need to replace the tranny to regear the axles

a friend of mine wanted to sell me a ford 8.8 and a d30 with 4 10s i just wasnt srure if the tranny and t case would work its my first jeep build lol

You realize that there's a driveshaft between the tcase and the axles, right?

In other words the axle doesn't attach to either the tcase or transmission.

If your YJ has a manual transmission, it is a POS, but that's a completely different subject altogether.

yes i realize that i just wasnt shure if the gearing in my tranny and t case had anything to do with the axel gearing
