Which Ball Joint Press?
I need to change a bunch of ball joints in 2 TJ's this spring, so I am going to just buy my own press. I have decided on the Raybestos tool, but don't know if I need to get the whole set or the basic one for pressing TJ ball joints.
Here are the Rock Auto links, with a clickable pic on the right side of the page: Basic Kit Full Kit Hopefully someone can tell from a picture, Thanks |

i through that same shit in the fucking garbage.
but then again im a mech and i dont have time to fuck around with the shitty loose parts, rings and spacers. i bought the bj1000 from snap on and will never use anything else again. all of the cups, spacers and pushing faces interlock and dont slip off.

I picked up the Harbor Freight one last year for about $40- so far it's done both axle joints, and all 6 of my DS joints, the front ones twice with no issues. You can't beat the price and for casual use it seems to fit the bill perfectly. If you're not using it daily or relying on it for your living it's what I'd reccomend.

Ditto. That shit wasn't worth the drive to the chinesee tool store. I then bought the OTC version and the jeep adapters. Night and day difference.

You can always rent one from auto zone, and return it for your money back when done..Its worked for me everytime and i just pick it up on the way home from work and return it on my way back to work the next day..so Its virtually free...
