I'm not sitting on 1 tons so I decided to keep this in non hardcore despite what my wife thinks about the build....
I'm a fulltime machine builder/sheetmetal fabricator/dad and part time wedding photographer, so :flipoff2: if you think there are too many photos.
When I first picked up my 2000 TJ it was with a blown D35, I got a hold of some 34x10.5 TSL's and took it out (after replacing the axle), and whomped on ithard enough to break the frame (and a shaft on the 35)
This is my first rodeo...
Brief summary:
Full frame replacement (see first picture), 35's (until I get into some 37's), 8.8 with ford LSD, D30 up front, Stretched to around 101", 4 link front and rear, RCI fuel cell behind the rear seat, about the only purchased parts on the suspension were 2" OD 1/4" wall tube, a few exploder leaf spring bushing kits, 2 johny joints, 1"-12unf all thread, 1"-12unf nuts, a custom driveshaft, and a SYE... Oh yeah, and shocks...
I ended up getting a frame (with a wrecked tub) from Davey's Jeep in Ohio, the frame was a 4.0, but I have a 2.5.... not a problem... new motor mounts:
My Fuel Cell (before installing the aluminum rings for the fuel pump) probably the biggest PITA was making the fuel line longer... many trips to advanced and autozone to get the right size adapters and line size... (hint: get the fuel line repair kit... and a heat gun works better than boiling water to push the line over the fittings)
In my shop (before moving it to the other bay to wrap things up)
Front bumper (I ended up going with an electric fan to get rid of that goofy shroud... )
Front suspension before welding on the UCA's
Rear suspension (4 link calculator FTW)
Flexing the frame before putting the tub back on.
