Thinking about completely ditching my fenders on my tj while doing my one ton swap and 40s and would like to see some underhood arrangements of those doing the same. I will probably trim the hood higher and either add a little tube or just some metal corners to fill in the gap and I'm trying to keep some of the junk like AC, washer fluid, etc. Thanks
Instead of completely ditching the fenders you could hack them off with a saw or grinder flush with the hood line and retain the inner fender. This way you don't have to worry about under hood components. Not sure if that will give you the clearance your hoping for though. Just a thought.
I did something very similar prior to putting on MCE flat fenders.
Actually thought about doing just that. Only downsides I saw was I was hoping sell my old fenders to recoup some money and I only moved the axle forward about 2 inches and with the 40s I'm worried it will still hit the back of the fenders.
I was hoping to get some ideas through pics of jeeps like Sean's bobbed LJ.
I used TNT customs "phantom" fenders and I run 40's. No rubbing at full stuff and plenty of room for all the under hood crap. Plus it helps keep debris out of the engine compartment.
No fenders cause they were back ordered for ever from the company I tried to deal with, but may leave it with the addition some tube when the hood gets cut and winch and stuff goes back on
Those turned out nice, kinda looking for underhood pics of stuff like that if you or anyone has any. That's mainly what im hung up on, all the under hood accessories. Nice rig.
I've had pics of your jeep saved for a while and was thinking about doing the exact same thing with my hood. Do you happen to have any under hood pics?
