Thanks, it looks just about right for my Jeep if I can get one for a good price. And I got a little work done today.

The rear is all ready for new hangers and junk:

And anyone done a half backhalf?

I'm thinking is might give me a little better departure angle and more up travel. What are your guys thoughts?

I did not have to notch my frame as I am a little taller than you are on 42's. I have about 5" of up travel before the tie rod or drag link start to get into the frame. My tie rod and ram are behind the axle and it definitely keeps things from getting run into stuff. I will take a few pictures for you tomorrow if it is not raining.

Keep in mind the how the spring will sit. It looks like the rear spring eye would sit much higher than the front eye, which will cause the spring/wheel to travel in a different direction than if both spring eyes were parellel to eachother.

It seems to me that the tire would move to the rear of the jeep more during compression.

Just something to think about. I could be full of BS.

Where did you get the adjustable front spring hangers from?

I would love to see how you did your steering, right now I have no idea what to run. And the adjustable hangers are from DIY4X I would recommend pretty much all of their products, very nice stuff.

And you have a good point Deadman. If I backhalf it I would most likely french the hanger into the frame to compensate for the difference as much as possible. But I'll keep that in mind before I cut anything.

Best I can get with my shitty phone and the tires on it. Tie rod is 1/4" wall and bent to give more clearance between the oil pan.

I really like that you mounted the ram right over the leaf spring, and very cool idea. It looks like you just kept the Pitman arm close to the frame and the other stuff within 1/2inch from the leaf. I'm posting from my phone so may have missed it, is your steering box on the inside or outside of your frame? And thanks a lot for the pics, think I'm going to copy your setup.

I have about 3/4"-1" between the tie rod and leaf spring. The steering box is a Jeep Saginaw box mounted about 1.5" further forward from the stock location with a Waggy arm. It works for behind the axle tie rod, but if it was standard crossover it would not. The box needs to go 3" more forward for the drag link to be straight. It does not effect anything in my setup. When I get around to 4 linking and putting coilovers on it (probably never) I will probably just go to a double ended ram.

Thanks for the info, and after doing to measuring it looks like I wont gain to much from back halfing it. The springs would have to go pretty far negative to even use the extra uptravel it could potently have.

Scored some badass Dana 44 parts at Pick&Pull today, I'll be picking up a 14bolt tomorrow to match.

A little progress, most if the money has been going to parts lately. Got my Longfields installed, the stock shafts had to be slightly modified for the full circle clip to go around though.

And I got the 14 Bolt under the Jeep

Ready to go, I got steel, slider boxes, leafs, and the old spring hangers are cut off and ready to be reused. I should be picking up a NP435 soon also, I am under the impression that they bolt up to a 5.0.

Got a little more done today.

I've heard the 14 Bolts are known to spin axle tubes. Is that something I should even worry about with 37's?

Checklist till driving:

-NP435 w/ dana 300 adapter
-Rear suspension
-Cage
-Get 5.0 running
-Brakes figured out
-Steering Figured out

I just ordered some 2+ Perches from ruff stuff, you guys think they can be safely welded onto my axle tubes with a 135A Hobart? I've been getting pretty good penetration in all the 1/4" stuff I've been welding.

I wish I could find a ZF tranny, I'm going to be going with a NP435. They are just easier to find but the adapters cost a lot more.

I was losing motivation so I had to take juristic measures to get this build going again.

Got the rear hangers all tacked in place, I moved it 1 inch forward from this picture to make sure I didn't run out of slider.

Also dropped off my 2+ perches at my machinist to open them up for a 3.5" axle tube (I know it's 3 3/8ths but I figured it would slide on easier)

Double measure everything a few times and burned it all in. Gonna tack the perches on the axle next and have them welded at a shop. No way I'm doing that with my little 110v Hobart
