Vacuume Widshield wiper-Retrofit?
Hey all,
I have a funky wiper set-up on my M38A1 that used to use some funky vacuum system to work.....thats not an option anymore. Is there a retrofit kit to convert them to electric? Should I just buy a CJ-5 windshield? Should I try to re-furbish these to get them to work? Any Ideas? Pic of wipers now.....they just dangle there. ![]()

Go down to J&W Jeep in Antelope, and get a windshield from a 69 to 75, and buy a switch and you're done. The 60's top mounted motors are a pain.
See the motor on the bottom right? I've got the wipers going in the wrong direction. They should set to the paasenger side.

Mr. Willys----yea I'll agree they're not the greatest, but they're better than the vacuum ones, best is to do what you suggested though--great tip for those that can do that.....chris

Keep the top-mounted wipers or your Jeep will lose it's Mojo....just put electric motors in place of the vacuum motors...the plus side is you can set each wiper to it's own speed.
