Peow130--I don't have any pics of engine bay when the old 302 was in it--but the grill wasn't pushed forward--I think the guy said it had a pinto radiator in it, but I'm not sure if that's correct or not---I do think there was some hacking that took place though to make the radiator fit, I think they folded out the ears to get the radiator in, but again I'm not sure as it was so long ago---sorry I didn't see this earlier when you asked for pics---there's pics in my thread of my tilted grill as I have it now....
the SBF bellhousing should work as long as the tranny you're getting came out of a SBF vehicle---now if memory serves me right there's different ratio T-18's---the granny geared one had 6:1 and the others had 4:1 if memory serves me right---I also have a spare SBF bellhousing----chris

Well i've got one SBF bellhousing, but if i could get something that bolts together at a reasonable price, i'd be a happy camper.. I don't really have the funds to blow 500 on an adapter and 500 on a transmission and transfer case.
Sent an email to novak adapters about the front ears on the FSJ T18 Transmission, if everything works out i'll see if i can't source this junk at the boneyards. Thanks for the help so far Mieser and csutton and everyone else. This place is a wealth of information.

Any ideas as to what transmission that is? I'm not entirely opposed to going to a SBC 350

I think(pretty sure) it's a SM465--perfect tranny to avoid front driveshaft hassles...chris

What about a T150?
Basically a bolt on affair with that trans, and possible that i could bolt my D18 in bplace of the D20. Or swap a set of toy axles under it that i may or may not have
