Axle upgrade
I came across a rear 9 inch 62" wms-wms and a hp 44 front 63" wms-wms. I am currently almost complete with a dauntless swap in my 59' cj with stock running gear. I just want to get it back on the trail!! I don’t plan on swapping axles until I break the stockies. So I have time to collect other parts. I need a 4spd and driver drop transfer that is compact. Everything is over 28" long. Any suggestions?

Just about any granny 4 speed with a flipped Dana 300 behind it should be plenty short enough. Dana 300's run fine flipped as long as you do a little work on the shift rail shafts.....

Don't be afraid to flip a D300. Its VERY easy to roll over to the other side. You don't really need anything fancy. You can make a set of cable shifters or a set of lever shifters fairly easy. You don't need to buy any of these super expensive 'flip-kits' that are on the market in my opinion.
