Starting point...

Not hardcore, (yet) but it is a starting point.
1949, how it sit's is how I bought it. In 2 or 3 years, I'll have a killer build thread.

I like the trucks built, but I think the wagons look funny big. I'm keepin' mine stockish.

Here's one I have been looking at buying
Blazer frame
built 350
TH400
NP205
Dana 60 front, 5.38, detroit
14 bolt rear, 5.38, detroit
new springs
39.5 boggers
112" wheelbase
winches front and rear
needs a little reworking and some paint but it works great on our trails.

Tech time.

Got a buddy putting a '50something wagon body on a burban frame. Anyone wanna take a stab at how much lift he's gonna need for 42" Iroks? Planning on 52"/56" (length) Chevy stuff at the moment, minimal lift.

Thanks.

EDIT: Said buddy is D Rat above... if it matters. :-D

That picture is from Silver Lake Sand Dunes in Michigan. I saw that rig there over Labor Day weekend this year.....it's fuckin bad! Definitely had some major power when he got on it. Here are links to a couple pics I snapped:

He had the hood on earlier in the day but I didn't get any pics then.

More Willys

Not exactly hardcore, but they are all driven. There is a few stock ones. The cream and blue one with big tires is wheeled and has been on it's side and lid a few times. Still like 'em. These were takan last moth at the West Coast Willys meet in Wrightwood CA.

I would like to find a semi local military flattie to trade my Willys for... GP,GPW,MB.... I have a lot of time and money in this truck 454,400/205/ dana 60 front, FF 14 rear. 44" cepeks. Too many new parts to list. Would sell firm, 7000.oo. Truck runs and trail rides awesome. Custom build, needs some finishing. Absolute beast on the trail. Second child on the way, need a fourth seat 979-203-4531 Fred. Serious response only, no dreamers please.

Can't believe I never stumbled across this thread before. Some nice old vehicles are in this thread. I guess I will contribute mine.. Here is a picture of my 1962 Willys pick -up from 1999 back before hydro steering and beadlocks were common place..400HP tune TPI injected 350 with onboard air, SM465/NP205, dana 70 rear (locked), dana 60 front (locked) with 35 spline stubshafts and drive flanges, 44 inch TSLs up front and 44 inch boggers out back. I have had it since 1994...Don't drive it much anymore as I built a trail only vehicle and kinda retired my Willys from trail riding about 5 years ago..It had hard life and needed a vacation. Some of you might recognize it from an episode of Trucks and/or a feature in Peterson's 4 wheel and offroad from back in 2000. Keep up the thread.
