Here is a 47 CJ2A I restified this year for birddog59 on here. The front frame section was kinked I think from an incident with the tow bar hitting the ground at speed. It was like that when John bought it. The frame pointed at the ground and the front shackle lay flat against the front bumper meaning no suspension. I cut the fubared frame off and built a new section and front bumper out of 2x3 box tubing. I rebuilt a dana 25 with a spicer power lok spicer 267X front shafts and 11 inch brakes. Rebuilt a spicer 18 t-case modified for true twin stick. Put a CJ5 d44 in the rear with a lock rite and 11 inch brakes. John had mile hi jeep rebuilders rebuild the T-90 and I put that in with all the other new drive train. I had to put a new fuel pump on it as the 62 year old one failed on a test run. Then shortly after I returned it to him the carb messed up and I havent heard if he was able to get it fixed and running again.

I'm loving the Jeeps in this thread. I would also love a Willys only section but alas, I doubt it'll happen. Just so I can contribute, I'm building a 42 MB on Rockwells, 44" swampers, 302 V8, C6 and 203/205 doubler. I haven't updated my sig yet on the changes. I don't have any pics yet since I've made very little progress but figured I'd throw it out there anyway.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It was all in the original packing from MD Yaun in the Philippines. Other than a bit of chafing there was no shipping damage to the body kit. The package weighed 426LBs. I am not sure what the dimensions were but it was basically slightly bigger than the body tub itself. I hope the info helps for you or anyone else considering a Reproduction body kit. Greg |

The yellow one is my '53 M38A1. The other is my son's '46 CJ2A. It has been upgraded with the F head engine, Warn overdrive, Saginaw steering box, and a slight spring under lift.

I just want to make sure everyone understands that this Moab Rally is for Willys wagons and pickup trucks ONLY. It's a special event to celebrate these American icons. It's not for the small Willys Jeeps or any other Willys make/model.
I have received some emails from people who have CJ2A's, 3B's, and even JK's and Rubicons. That's not what this gathering is for. I hope this helps clarify the intent, so people don't start assuming things only to find out something different. Any questions - feel free to give me a call anytime 208 863-1718

For now the stretch is just the piece of aluminum. I have a guy that will cut and lengthen the hood and make the Willys logo on the side stay in the middle of the hood. If you look at the other photos however shortly after that picture was taken, I laid the rig on it's side and damaged the rt side of the hood.

She's 106" and the stretch on the tub was 12". I'd show you the old pictures before the last rebuild, but I'd be banished for the
paint job it used to have..

Why is it lame to organize an event for a particular group of vehicle owners? There are dozens of these types of events held all over the US each year for every kind of vehicle out there. It started out as a few Willys wagon/truck owners that began corresponding in my build thread. And over a period of about a year we started talking about getting together. We thought it would be fun to organize a low-keyed rally for the wagons and trucks. Now, why that's lame I don't really know. I am sorry you are offended by it. We didn't intend to offend.

Damn, I was hoping to bring My Ford Escort Wagon to the event. Why you gotta hate? Infact, every time I bring my Ford Escort Wagon to any vehicle specific meet nobody wants to talk to me about my Ford Escort Wagon. The Jeep guys hate, the vw beetle guys hate, the model T guys hate.... WHY!!! I dont get it????
I'll just bring my Willys Wagon instead.

Because even the specific events that others organize allow the participants to invite who ever they want irregardless of what they drive. Unless this is a telvised documentary on willy's wagons and trucks its exclusionary to dissalow other willy's vehicles to attend. The last I'll say about it the moab bronco safari http://www.moabbroncosafari.com/ allows any one to particpate the jeep scrambler association http://www.cj-8.org/ allows anyone to particpate ttora http://www.norcalttora.com/ the toyota people allow any one to attend thier events to name only a few. All with the comon goal of having a good time as wheeling comunity. ,John Last edited by jr4x; 08-14-2009 at 09:05 PM. |

I am bummed that you are upset over it. Please don't be. We have so much to gain by spending our energy on supporting each other rather than hacking each other to pieces. Let's not make this something bad please.
To be honest we aren't really prepared to host anything larger than what we have planned. We aren't seriously organized and it's not something we want to spend a hundred hours putting together or managing. We want to meet other Willys wagon and truck owners and enjoy our time too. Not work the entire time. If that was the case, I wouldn't even do it. We just want to have a good time with the small following of wagon and truck owners. We have nothing against every kind of Willys, believe me. I love them all. In fact, I am preparing to build a 46 flatty rock buggy in the near future.

If I owned a Flatty or didn't even own a jeep I would not be upset, hell I would still come and wheel but chat with the Truck and Wagon community and see how they did things and maybe even ride with one of them on the trail if I could and enjoy in the good fun.
That being said how many people you figure we got coming now midnight?? Last edited by Willys 4x4; 08-14-2009 at 09:52 PM. |
