building a CJ2A

I am building a CJ2A. Well basically the only thing original looking will be the tub and grill. My question is when I throw full width axles under it, what are the down falls to running coil springs with links apposed to coilovers? I am planning on running 35s or at the biggest 38.5 one day. Does anyone have any recommendations on what kind of coils to run or any setups?

Thanks

full width axles... hope you're talking about a full width 44 and 9 inch cause 35s with one tons (60s, 14bolt, etc) is just plowing

not dead set on 35s or full widths. Possibly rockwells and bigger tires. Anyways any down falls to using coils?

I'm putting rocks on mine. It's not easy for sure, they're fucking huge and the flattie isn't. I hope you plan on building a new frame for it. The stock ones are barely adequate for street use. If you have the stock D44 rear you can convert it to a FF and run 35's on it. If you plan on going bigger than 35's you'll probably wanna stretch the WB. The pros/cons for coils are the same as they would be for any Jeep. With coils you'll have to have retaining buckets and shocks, they can pop out, they have more limited mounting arrangements..... Not saying they are bad or they can't be done but those are some of the cons. And as you'll find out, space on a flattie is always a bitch.

does anyone have specs on it or a build thread? Like I said I am trying to get ideas together and am not dead set on any suspension setups! I am going to be building a new frame and stretching it so that will help with the wheelbase issues of these short jeeps
