I had this old heap sitting outside my shop for a year or so, a friend of mine decided he wanted it so here we go. I say old heap, a battery and some gas and it fired right up, drove it on the trailer. Here is what we started with...

I got it all tore down for further inspection, just to see what we had to work with...ehh, not much.

Ahh, much better, we can work with this

More to come, just two days in right now, the more time I spend posting, the less work I get done, back to the shop.

Looks good, that was a very complete CJ2-a and not rusted out. That's a rare find!!!

Frame looks great.

It has it's share of rust, floorpans, some on the sides. A ton of bugger welds, someone elses bad ideas becoming my nightmare. It will serve a great purpose in it's second life.

I know whats that like! Should be a cool rig, what size tires/axles/engine are you planning on?

sweet build.i need to come by and see it.im diggin all the welder names can i be i dont know how to weld and have no skill,no all stick with the recall kid.

35's 44 front, Toyota rear, 22r EFI Toyota.

I like recall kid, it fits. We haven't even fired this one up yet and the accelerator is stuck

Finished up the tranny mount and skid plate, cut the floor pan out, getting ready to put the tub on one last time

I contemplated the Toy drivetrain into a Flatty as kind of retirement rig, but just can't get myself to shame the Willys that bad

Tub is now in it's new home, doing a little shop cleaning this morning then it's time for my favorite part, laying up the cage, more pics to come tonight.

Looks like a cool project. I always thought a 22RE would be a nice engine for a flatty. Looking forward to seeing the buildup.

too bad about the jap motor though, you couldnt find a 4.3/t5 or getrag/241 ??
